Archetype Observer

A symbolic map for self-observation across nine lenses.

Problem

Self-reflection tools often reduce a person to a label or imply more certainty than their methods support.

Vision

Read nine lenses separately, connect shared evidence, and offer a map for reflection without presenting it as a diagnosis or prediction.

Architecture

A separate React 18 and TypeScript product on Vite, with chart computation, reviewed content, and deterministic map assembly. Supabase handles accounts and persistence; governance packages check consent boundaries and claims.

Role and stack

Design and build. TypeScript, React, Vite, Supabase, Playwright, and shared chart, content, and governance packages.

Roadmap
  • Review content packs and individual maps before sharing with pilot participants.
  • Validate the complete intake, map, and sharing journeys with consent in place.
Lessons learned
  • Agreement counts distinct evidence roots, rather than the number of lenses.
  • Content review and consent are part of the product's design.
  • A working prototype and a validated participant experience are separate milestones.

Archetype Observer is one of my projects. Its own website holds the product: the Unified Map, nine lens readings, twelve houses, and eight life domains.

The supporting surfaces include daily reflection, relationships, Rhythm, Circle, Conscious Dating, and a practitioner Studio with consent-aware reflection drafts. Intake, content review, and map approval support the pilot workflow. These remain prototype features; a route or screen alone does not establish that every end-to-end journey is ready for participants.

The map keeps readings that share the same underlying fact linked, rather than counting them as independent agreement. Unresolved birth-time values stay open, and owner review precedes sharing generated maps.

Open the product. Access depends on the product's sign-in and pilot settings.
